BFGoodrich g-Force T/A® KDW or Dunlop Sport SP 5000?
I just got my new 2003 WRX and am looking to make a tire and wheel upgrade and wanted to see if anyone had experience with these tires? Being a Seattlite, wet weather performance is important, and I do spend the occasional day in the snow. I have the stock tires on right now.
What is the ride quailty like ?
How about the noise level (i.e. road noise)?
Good experiences? Bad?
Thanks for the input!

G-Force
Just replaced the original RE-92s on my 2000 2.5RS with Goodrich G Force KDWS and the difference is scary in every aspect of performance. They are with out a doubt very quiet and lend a slightly harder ride than the originals. If your not thinking of snow, the KDW-2 should even be better.

I have the old tread style of KDW. the performance is outstanding, way more grip then stock tires, and more predictable when it lost traction in dry or wet, cause it never ride on it sidewall like the RE92s. there is more noise, but I can live with it, since I got exhaust and it's a subaru, not a quite to beging with..so noise is not a big problem with me.

didn't know that you are from this area too!!
never tried, and probably would never, since I've heard people lost control on their Kumho supra, so same thing might happen on these KDW. however, my friend with summer tire have done that many times, and they say just don't be an idiot, you should be fine.
if you are concerning about snow, you should look at KDWS if you are not an track guy. cause KDWS well be good enough for fast street driving, or some weekend autoX. The basic construction of these two tires are same, just different tread pattern and compound for better cold weather grip. I would expect the KDWS might have a little less dry grip, but I doubt a normal person can notice anything, but the snow capability would be a big plus for a normal guy, also, the main thing I like these tire is their wet grip and sidewall roll resistance, not the dry grip. I wish I bought the KDWS by the way.......cause no more snowquamie snow fun anymore.........

Nice....
Thanks for info Kevex. I think I'm going to end up waiting a few more months for tires and rims. My new WRX just turned 1000, so I can start driving her like she wants to be driven. I figure I need to spend some more time just figuring out how to best drive my new toy...
Have you driven up to Mt. Baker in your WRX? The hairpin corners are really fun to drop into 2nd Gear and then gun it and do nice 4w drifts... Gotta love the WRX...
