What is it about anti-lag systems that causes the backfire effect?
Anti lag works by injecting the normal air/fuel mixture into the cylinder, but suppressing the spark.
So, basically when the exhaust/cats gets hot enough, it can spontaneously ignite. |
simply awesome

I think I'm gonna have to Google on anti-lag stuff, because while what you said makes sense, the timing of it all escapes me.

Very cool vids. Here is a great article I found on anti-lag systems:

anyone have a clue how much a setup would cost?
lots of $$$ for sure also a daily replacement for your turbo and exhaust :)
helps minimize the turbo from lagging.....that wat wrc car uses.....
illegal also! =)
Probably no mystery, but all of you UTEC users have a form of it.:)
those vids were taken from Motorvation 2005 in Perth. W.Australia
The dirvers and cars can be seen at our www.perth-wrx.com forums. Anti-lag is achieved via stand-alone ecu. such as MoTeC or Autronic. |
as well as link plus, what i have.
it dosn't really cost alot-alot, but it will kill ur car if u drive it alot...
