Thinking about upgrading your WRX Turbo? Just do it!!!
Here's my 07 WRX TR that I picked up in January.
1st round of engine mods;
Harmon Motive downpipe
Borla Hush 3”
Hallman Pro RX MBC
Tune by Ed at Equilibrium Tuning
I was very impressed with this first round and couldn’t wait to conclude my parts shopping and install a new turbo & TMIC.
2nd round of engine Mods
Used VF 39
Used STI TMIC
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Subaru HD engine mounts
Subaru Group N HD transmission mounts
Tune by Ed at Equilibrium Tuning
All I can say is WOW. 1st gear acceleration on dry pavement is awesome and I found out getting on the freeway the first morning after a little rain that it’ll spin the tires hard in 3rd gear (pointed straight ahead at the time!). Not sure if it was cold tires, oily pavement, or just all that torque. Yeeehaa!!!
Round 3 will be handling and brake mods – more to follow…

Thanks for the nice write up Greg. I'm glad you're enjoying the car. I believe 06-07 WRX owners have very little reason not to upgrade to a VF series turbo. All you need is the turbo, TMIC, and fuel pump and you have a huge gain over the stock turbo power levels. The best part is that you lose very little response!
Let us know when you're ready for some suspension and brake work to go along with all that torque

Car Info: an EQ tuned box
Although I'm only making 260 ft lb *see my review here*, the wagon would easily spin all four, going up up in 2nd & 3rd should I mashed the pedal.
Ed's really good at extracting them horsies and channel all that grunt to the ground. And that translates to huge smiles.
After I'm done with susp & brake, another trip to EQ I go.
