Road tune with Ed @ Eq Tuning.

What I had:
bug eye
stage 2 setup with off the shelf map.
160K miles.. Yes .. 160thousand on original td04

What I wanted:
to improve on the performance of the current map while making the motor perform more efficiently and give my motor as much longevity as possible.

See other posts for the blow by blow of how Ed does his thing. No need to post it all over again here.

Thanks for reading.

What you should do:
Give EQ a chance.
I will stick with EQ as long as the doors stay open.

What I got:
Exactly what I wanted... but thats not where it stops.

What Ed got:
A customer for life.
^^^ Pretty much sums it up for me.

"Good" customer service can be measured many different ways. While I appreciate quality work and open line of communication greatly, attitude/atmosphere is also an important factor.

A given shop could perform quality work, but if the place made me feel uncomfortable, I would seriously reconsider my options.

Just want to add something I've left out prior:

While discussing the time & rate, including which mods could be beneficial per my preference, Ed looked up the MSRP of a certain inlet.

After seeing the price the manufacturer advertised of the sale special, he informed me that he could easily match that price, but suggested that I should shop around and would more than likely get a better deal than what this manufacturer & he could offer.

No kidding.

He could have easily thrown a sales pitch and run with it. But didn't.

I've always had a good feeling with EQ, but this pretty much seals the deal. They do treat you like a friend and not just another transaction.

Cheers to you, EQ. Sincerely.

John, nice talking with you about your new setup. We'll definitely get you all squared away and back on the road very soon.

YAHWEEEEEEEH!. Only thing I'm worried about is the stock pistons being crappy in the new 2.5. I heard that the newest EJ257's had better pistons and crank.... any truth to this? When do we get to see the time attack in action?

the stock pistons will be fine for your planned power levels. You are getting the brand new Sti block with nitride coated crank. I haven't personally heard that the pistons have been revised, but that would certainly be nice. Either way you're going to have a little beast on your hands when she's done ;)
