Newb tune questions

Sorry people I am new to the tuning scene so if these questions are retarded you have full permission to flame ;P
So I am getting a full invidia TBE that comes with a AP. I am curious if I need to take my car to a tuner right away or can I just flash to stage 2 with the AP and cruise for awhile till I save up for tuner. My car has 120000 miles on it but has been maintained very well, it was bone stock when I picked it up. Still no mods on it but exhaust will be the first.
I also see people talking about which gas they use for the tune and how some get more power from 85. Wouldn't they get more from 91? I fill up at chevron and always get 91 for my 04 wrx. Isn't 91 better then 85?
Thanks guys always appreciate your advice

You can use the AP and just use the stock ots map that it comes with you will be safe it is a generic map suited for all vehicles so if you want the most a pro tune is the way to go.You can have the tune loaded on to the AP aswell so that you can swap for smog later down the road..E85 has its -/+ but if you go to E85 you will need to do a few things like injectors, fuel pump and some other stuff can not remember them all good luck and enjoy

You will be fine with the ots stage 2 Cobb hasmany ots tunes to match the parts you are installing. I would get a pro tune but wait until you have all the parts you want.

As for e85 It is not 85 octane it is 85% ethanol which when injected in higher volume it has the same properties as 105 octane fuel. Do not put it in your car unless you are tuned for it.

Hope my post was useful, and do not be afraid to ask questions, we all get our start somewhere

Welcome to the club.

Yeah I am going to work on more mods in the future so I will hold of on a protune.

Got it e85 isn't the same as 85 my mistake. Thanks for clearing it up guys.
