+1 For Edge Motorworks in Mountain View!

Just wanted to take the time and say thank you to Adam and Gordon over at Edge Motoworks! I usually don't do these kinds of things but I was over the top impressed and satisfied with their work. Their new location in Mountain View opened about a month ago and is a sick spot! I walked in and everything was super tidy and very well presentable and in the back room they had their BRZ race car, a BMW race car, Adam's 600awhp STi, and a few other Lemons cars; I thought "wow this is sick". Everyone there was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and outgoing, in my opinion customer service yields return customers and that is exactly why I am writing this. Enough jibber jabber, if you need work done hit them up and tell them Brendan from iClub sent you!

They installed the following for me quickly and did a full Auto X spec alignment.

Whiteline Rear Subframe Positive Traction Kit (KDT901)
Whiteline Heavy Duty Steering Rack Bushings
Whiteline Bump Steer/Caster Correction Kit
Whiteline HD Front and Rear Endlinks
Whiteline Rear Diff Bushings
GT Spec Rear Lateral Links
GT Spec Front H Ladder Brace

Their business card says BMW and Mini specialist but now they recently hired Adam, whom some of you know, and now work on Subarus as well.

Onto some pictures

I recall you in a tutorial video for something....don't you work at a shop?

How did the autoX go? Always wanted to try one.

I work at Andys Autosport, wouldn't ever say its a shop just an online website and i work in sales lol

Auto X was a blast but i was terrible at it, first time out and truth be told had no idea how to drive the course, totally different to the "back road" driving every now and then lol

Hey Brendan -

Just a heads up, the GT Spec H brace you have installed bumps you beyond SM into OSP for SCCA autox. Because it connects 4 points of the chassis together, and has both vertical as well as horizontal (front to back, side to side) bracing it is "illegal" for any other classes.

I have the same brace from Cusco on my STI and I have to run in T2-OSP because of it.

Just an FYI.

I met Gordon White at Sears Point in Feb at a NASA event. Cool guy, and they just got a Brz and are tracking it :).

They are fast at the AutoX. I like their set up, very track oriented with the 17x9 rpf1 and dunlop ZII tires.

I was 2 seconds off their pace... need coils and the whiteline kit that Brendan installed asap!

I realized that after I got to Auto X lol, I just "built" my car for the hell of it perhaps soon when I get more into the sport I'll fix the modifications to be more competitive in the correct classes lol

In my opinion autox should be fun and it should be used to help you get to know YOUR car. Set up the car the way you want it. Run in whatever class it is you want to run in. Have fun. You'll get waxed for a while and then you'll be competitive but who cares.

There are usually a few elite cars in each class. Guys that have been doing it a long time and set up their cars for a specific class to be competitive in. They go to every event and they play to win. I've seen guys bring entire crews to events to set up their cars for them. Some folks are driving cars owned by other people.

Until you get that serious... don't worry about it. Show up. Drive. Have fun.

That's how I am. With my mods I guess I should be sm but I'm not even on rcomps.

Glad we could take care of you Brendan! The car turned out awesome and nice driving at AAS last weekend! You'll only get better bro, slow in, fast out!

You'd be better off going to every autox event you can and doing ride-alongs with FAST guys and having fast guys drive your car with you in it. You can throw r compounds and whatever else on your car but you've got to learn how to get the most out of your car first.

It took me a year just to be able to completely walk the course and blast through each time without missing a gate or spinning out. That said, a completely modded suspension and R-compounds is a complete blast to drive.

Remember, if you don't make the cones wiggle, you're not close enough. :peace::peace:

This was my problem. Got there and thought this looks a blast and then thought about it and realized I had zero idea the correct way to drive the course. I wanted to go on some ride alongs but had to film for Edge Motorworks so I only got one ride along which last a total of.....39 seconds lol
