Apparently Zarqawi was in a small town just outside of Baghdad on the way to Baqubah with his "spiritual advisor." U.S. forces hit the house in which seven people were present, including two women, with rockets fired from helicopters. According to the report not everyone was killed and Zarqawi was still alive when handed over to Iraqi forces, but he died in their custody.

This story implies that they have a body.

I didn't agree with Bush's speech after the news of his death. Made no sense whatsoever and gave no incentive.

The gist was that even though they killed the #1 man (and a couple in the top 10 within that building) in Iraq, they should still expect terrorist violence. Well duh... I think this would have been a good speech to give if they killed anyone but Zarqawi. But now that Zarqawi is gone so is the excuse. When does this viscous cycle end? If the #1 man can easily be replaced (which we all knew) then we should give the Iraqis incentive to help us more in finding others. If I were Bush i'd use this news as leverage to pull out troops. Show the Iraqis that their efforts will be rewarded. The Iraqi ARMY must step-up to the plate.

^^^^ i agree. weve been there for how many yrs??I dont remember. but we did all this and lost god knows how many lives, to kill one guy and celebrate. I agree with why we went there, but cannot grasp why we're still there. What are we accomplisihing. Bush just cant face the fact and come to terms that he is in over his head. admitting it would show everyone how much of a ****ty pres he is. when is the next election so we can get the next idiot to congress.

This isn't the issue. If Bush pulled-out and all went well, then would you still think he's a ****ty pres? Probably even though the economy is on a major upswing. His approval rating could change in the blink of an eye based on how he handles Iraq. I don't think he's in over his head because we have the means of staying there and in Afghanistan until my unborn child reaches 18yrs of age. The issue is the fear of the unknown and how control that factor. The answer is simple, Bush cannot control this but needs to make a substantial move anyways.
