Sex-indifferent marriage bill
Got this email
Personally, i figure marriage is merely a way to deal with taxes and inheritance as far as the government is concerned, i support the bill. The government is not in place to legislate morality.
Of course, if you're really opposed to it, you can just call the number and press 2, 1, 2. Either option is better than political inaction.
Go democracy!
Please call and support AB849 the marriage equality bill.
Gov. Schwarzenegger's office has set up an automated telephone poll
line to
get opinions on the gender-neutral marriage bill he plans to veto.
Please call 916-445-2841
You will be prompted through the menu
PRESS 2 to voice your opinion on legislation PRESS 1 to select AB849
-- The marriage bill passed by our representatives.
PRESS 1 to support and NOT veto the bill.
Call 916-445-2841
Press 2, 1, 1
Thanks!

Yeah, as much as I think "marriage" is between a man and a women I do think they should be allowed "marriage" rights like taxes, inheritance, etc... Like you said, it's not the governments place to approve of ethical issues like gay marriage. In the whole scheme of things is it really that big of a deal?
And at first glance I thought it said Gen. Schwarzchoff was vetoing the bill and I was like "what the hell say does he have in the matter?" HAHA Anyway. Go democracy.

I'm pretty indifferent about gay marriage. I think that all people should enjoy the same civil rights, which includes civil unions. I think marriage should be relegated to a strictly symbolic status, and anybody, gay or straight, should be able to have a civil union.

I was joking around with Scott. Personally I think it's pretty ridiculous that there even needs to be a bill to allow gay marriage.
