[/QUOTE] Yes, and we are a nation of poor spellers, too. |

Which is worse? :p |
Nice retort, Dumb! Conveniently, the "I" and "O" keys are right next to each other on the keyboard. I'm sure I mispell every so often, but this was a case of hitting the wrong key.
I digress.... why no retort on the validity or lack thereof of this report. What happened to the resounding message from the White House that spoke of integrity in how we handle detainees? Do you expect so little from our govt? |
You can't beat an enemy that doesn't fear you. While I think torture is wrong, I'm kinda glad these stories are published, true or not. I can see how it would even be strategically beneficial for the enemy to be aware of this, and not assume if caught they'll be spending time at camp cupcake while waiting for thier appeals all paid and provided for by the infadel.

Do you really think people that blow themselves up are worried about where they spend jail time? |

Bingo, we have a winner! |
I think this has to do more with how we present ourselves to the world. Also do we lower ourselves to their standards? I hardly think we win by doing that.

Yeah, I do. Only the sheep blow themselves up. I have a hard time believing bin laden or zarquawi would ever die for thier cause. Yeah I never said we should torture anyone, I said it is beneficial for the ememy to think it's a possibility. You sure have a hard time grasping difficult concepts. If your enemy thinks you are a ***** (5 letter word for cat), your going to have a hard time defeating him. If you put fear in him, he's not going to fight you. In war you have to or appear to be able stoop to thier level. One of the most effective interrogation techniques is telling a detainee he's going back to his native country to be interrogated. Do you know why this is effective? Because they know americans are little pussies and Cindy Sheehan will be on the next boat to Guantanamo to comfort them. |
Intimidation can sometimes diffuse a fight. But more often, it causes the intimidated side to go get friends and jump the intimidator. Especially when the enemy is a radical militant religious movement with lots of friends around the world.
