I saw that one, pretty good.

NOTE: I did not watch the above video, so I don't know if this applies.

I ****ing hate the tactics used by opponents of the health care bill in the town hall meetings. Yelling at people and refusing to allow them to respond to your accusations and claims only shows that they have no interest in the truth, or in making things better. They are, in effect, trolling the town hall meetings -- and anyone that supports that kind of behavior is an *******.

Umm, it's amazing how MANY people are outraged about the plan. It isn't trolling, it's letting them know that you disagree with their ideas with healthcare.

Best bet in 2010 a lot of seats are going to change.

The truth is very easy. Free market will fix the problem. I agree healthcare needs to get reformed, but not with a government/public option FOR EVERYONE.

Going in and yelling at people, calling them names and throwing around accusations and ad hominem attacks without allowing people to respond is trolling. All you're doing is justifying ****ty behavior because you agree with their position. They are not allowing for debate or intelligent discourse, they are using scare tactics, hyperbole and appeals to emotion to shout down anyone that disagrees with them, and it is complete bull****.

Want to sway people? Try using a cogent, logical argument instead of tossing about "Nazi" and "socialist" as if those terms actually applied somehow.

All that being said, I am unsurprised that you would condone that kind of behavior.

iLoqin 08-26-2009 02:02 PM

The guy using the scare tactics is the president. I guess he leads a nation where that can be used all the time "Need stimulus to prevent catastrophe" is just one line. Need to change this, need to reform this. Destruction, catastrophe, nation ending, blah blah blah.

Nazi and socialist are great titles for someone who wants more government intervention, than government backing off.

saqwarrior 08-26-2009 02:06 PM

Hey look, a non-response ignoring my main point of contention. A straw man argument -- shocking.

Using the behavior of others as an excuse for your own crappy behavior is something children do.

Oh, and where were you when Bush gave billions in stimulus money to the airlines after the attacks on September 11? Or the billions he gave to Wall St. last fall? Like most "conservatives," I'm sure you were dead silent. I ****ing hate hypocrites.

Please explain to me the parallels between the Nazi health care system and the proposed health care bills we are currently examining.

The foundation of Nazi belief was one of birthright by racial superiority, enforcing of power through violence, and state-capitalism -- they were about as "socialist" as the USSR -- which is to say, they used the term as a means of gaining the support of the working class, and that's it. Your throwing of those terms about only illustrates how little you actually know about Nazi Germany and history in general.

Oregon's Health care scheme is paraNazi:

Now, I have no idea if this is part of any Federal Plan.

And I love how the big, evil pharmo compnay donated the needed chemo medicine.

saqwarrior 08-26-2009 05:43 PM

Let me clue some of you in on the health care system in Nazi Germany: it was the same health care system that existed prior to Nazi Germany. In fact, it wasn't a "Nazi health care system," it was a "German health care system," essentially unchanged from 1918 to 1945.

The only similarity between the German health care system in that time period and what is being proposed now is the word "socialism." The similarities begin and end with that label.

Any intelligent and honest person should be ashamed of applying the label "Nazi" to the proposed health care reform -- especially any person whose family was directly affected by the Nazi atrocities. And that means you, Paul.

Maybe some of you should go to Israel and inform them that their socialized medicine is "Nazi health care."

Then why are you posting it?

hahaha

I know you're not that naive -- they got good press and marketing on a level that money can't actually buy for chemo medication valued at a few thousand dollars. They "donated" because it was the opportunity of a lifetime for their company's image.

FW Motorsports 08-26-2009 06:22 PM

Whoa...whoa..whoa...

I only used the term "Nazi" as it was mentioned in the story I originally posted; I know there's no sane reason to yell, "Nazi" when discussing socialist BarryCare health rationing schemes.

Further, as the Nazis were very into eugenics...killing of those that are "defective"...it was appropriate to label Oregon's Scheme paraNazi; they'd rather have a person sick with cancer commit suicide than heal her.

And yes, the pharma company got a **** load of great press for them.
And yes, had you gone to the same company for cancer treatment, they'd tell you to **** off.

Remember, it was BarryCare supporters that started with the Nazi, et al references to those that oppose gov't controlled health rationing by when supporters called the distractors "brown shirts".

As usual, you restored my faith in you, Paul.

Sorry about the vitriolic post above, I'm just getting really tired of what passes for political discourse in this country. It's sickening to me that ignorance rules the populace the way it does, and that those in power use that ignorance against all of us.
