Funny how Rather missed the bullet, when he played a key role in it.

Think there isn't bias in the media?

I know, how did rather duck out of that one's way?

I don't think anyone thinks there isn't bias in the media. Not even Dayle.

It's more convenient for people out of the spotlight to take the fire than Rather's old, wrinkled ass. I'm sure 60 minutes is somewhat responsible for Rather's retirement by forcing him into it. That way there's no attention and everyone forgets about the retirment by the time they turn the channel. Don't they already have a younger, fresher face to fill his spot?

Rather didn't duck. He's out... soon enough.

As for media bias... it runs both ways. If you don't beleive that you must be very, very stupid. Compare the Chronicle with some Texan newspaper anyday. See what they choose to print, and on which page they choose to print things, the language they use, etc, etc. The media in general is very unreal.

even though the docs were fake, the essence of the story was true,
at least that's what the secratary who would have typed the docs -if they hadn't been fakes, said.

firing these people, as well as Rather's resignation as anchor is all a journalistic witch hunt, there is no such thing as free press when it comes to the major media, its all bought and sold.

Well, they are embarrassed ONLY because they got caught - they have to do somthing so that the general public doesnt lose all faith in the media.
