WHAT? Why the hell wouldn't the owner of this establishment be able to request that his goods be ordered in a language he understands (which just happens to be the language of the land)?
Jeeze...

PHILADELPHIA - An English-only ordering policy at one of the city’s most famous cheesesteak joints drew a warning Monday from officials who threatened to file a discrimination complaint.
The city’s Commission on Human Relations planned to argue that the policy at Geno’s Steaks discourages customers of certain backgrounds from eating there, said Rachel Lawton, acting executive director.
Geno’s owner Joseph Vento posted two small signs at his shop in south Philadelphia proclaiming: “This is AMERICA: WHEN ORDERING ’PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH.”’

I agree, he should be able to have that sign if he wants. It's rediculous people are calling it racist; there isn't any anti-certain language. You can't order from this guy in French, German, Spanish, Chinese, etc...so what race or ethnicity is he hating on? None...
I even saw a story about this that says he doesn't turn people away if the do order in another language, he is just basically encouraging people to do so.

if it's a private business/property you can make up whatever rules you want: case in point, Augusta National where women are not allowed to play golf. They have pissed and moaned and launched petitions, but it all comes down to private ownership and they have lost everytime.

But yeah, that wouldn't go very far in court I don't think.
