aftermarket sway bars with otherwise stock suspension

i heard somewhere that getting sway bars without changing the rest of the suspension is not a good way to go. can anyone give me a second opinion about that?

i want to reduce the body roll of my car, but i don't really want to spend too much money on it. so i was thinking of just swapping out my stock sway bars for cusco ones. i was also thinking about maybe getting swift springs... if they ever come out...

any thoughts? i'm not really knowledgeable about this kinda stuff, but i'm trying to learn

Who told you that?

I would just change one thing at a time. Do sways, then springs, then whatever else. It is best for you to get comfortable with each upgrade. Not to mention, learn the effects of what each component does.

Do the sways first. As you grow as a driver, your preferences will change. Then you'll base your next mod on what you would like to do with the car next.

That's ridiculous, I did sways and strut tower bars as my first mods, then springs about a month later. Then Ohlins coilovers about 8 months later.

The swift springs have been out. Had them, not impressed. The 09 struts have them same dampening and top hats as the STI's and need 08+ STI springs or else you may be putting softer aftermarket springs going with 08+ WRX springs, be careful.

Get the pinks springs made for an STI... B2010FG200 and 300

Also, be careful and make absolutely sure you want to change your suspension before you do. Having a car that handles like its on rails sounds good until you drive to work everyday spilling coffee all over yourself while you arrange your next kidney transplant. I'm not saying it'll be that rough but when I put my coilovers on I went hardcore, it handles like a beast but is not a daily driver. Of all things you can change on a car, aggressive suspensions are the hardest to live with. My buddy has an 08 with a GT35 and stock like springs and unless he's standing on the throttle it drives like its stock (minus the exhaust note which is tasteful anyway). That's the way to go in my opinion.

i've heard of these STI pink parts. how are they different from the SPT parts? it seems like they're different, but i'm not sure why subaru would make 2 different lines of parts

Do sways, front and rear... I got the Rallitek Track Spec set on my '10 and couldn't be happier. Personally I don't feel springs are necessary for the 09-10 for daily driving. I'm really impressed with how good of an out the box performance package the new WRX's are, especially for the price.

How hard does the ride get with just sways? Mainly asking about going straight.

sways do not effect how hard it rides, sways effect the amount of "sway" or "roll" when you turn. Driving in a straight line will not change at all.

very true statement about the coilovers though , i put my zeals on and its a night and day difference when it comes to handling but my car is the most uncomfortable thing to ever ride in. People smack their heads on the pillars and windows its way to stiff to be daily driven even though i daily drive it.
