Thinking about purchasing 02' Subrau Imprezza TS

Hi. I am new to the subaru scene I am thinking about trading in my 01' Honda Accord for a used 02' Subaru Imprezza TS from a local dealership for a price of 11,000. Imprezza has 60,000mi on it and in very clean condition with no major dent or scratch. I been driving honda ever since high school and thought this was a reasonable fix to fit in my budget and chance to try all wheel drive.

2002 Subaru Impreza TS Price: $11,995
Engine: 2.5L 4 cyl Fuel Injection
Exterior: White
Mileage: 65,332
VIN: JF1GG65532H819029 *If anyone has free carfax to run this that would be great. Dealer will provide me information later when I meet them but it would be nice to know before hand.

My question is what are the benefits on owning a subaru imprezza and what I should expect to do to take care of it, and if the price listed is reasonable.

Your comments, advise and thoughts are much appreciated.

Provided that the car is in good condition, that seems like a reasonable price. NADA puts it at $13,075.

As for benefits to owning an Impreza, it's all up to your personal situation. Subarus are extremely reliable, but you already have a reliable Honda. I can't tell where you live, but if you live in a snowy area, you'll appreciate the AWD.

As for taking care of it, shouldn't be much different from your Honda. Keep your oil changed, change your differential fluid every 30k miles or so and that's about it. Subaru paint sort of sucks, but it's not absolutely horrible. Should be a good buy.

Thanks for your comment. I live in Orange Country, CA now but plan to move to Chicago, IL later this year so I may be able to appreciate AWD there during winter time.

My brother had WRX but didn't notice the quality of the paint being poor. I guess I'll just have to wash, wax and polish well periodically.

The main issues I've noticed with my paint is how easily it chips from rocks. It's mainly a bit on the thin side.

soft paint

I'll second the soft paint, but if that's the only thing we have to whine about.....
