Need help with my vent air controls not working normally
 

When I put the temp control dial at the first click above 65 the air comes out hot, and it's hot enough that you will have to put it back to 65 after a couple minutes and then it's too cold. If the hot/cold selector is on "65" all the way to the left the air comes out COLD, same temp as the outside air. Now, if I turn the hot/cold selector just ONE click up so I barely even moved it at all....the air comes out hot. It's like I can't adjust the temp of the air, it's either outside temp or HOT, HOT. After I drive the car for a least 30 minutes the air temp at the "one notch above 65 setting" will cool off a little, but it's still too hot for comfort.


My problem is that the difference between 65 and one click up and beyond is too hot for comfort. It's either 65 (heater off, & cold) or one click up which gets too hot.


Does anyone else have this problem, or hopefully a fix? I've posted on the other STi boards as well but haven't found a solution yet.

would it be the outside temp too cold?

I think you alt to run it down to the dealers service dept. that problem is for sure under warranty just have them check it out, even though rollin the windows down sounds easier its dumb to pay that kind of money for a car and have one click artic and the next click feelin like kenya...

sounds like you just need the air mix door cable adjusted or snapped back in.it can easily be kicked of by a passenger.you do use the recirc function right.
