factory service manual for 06 wrx

anyone know where i can get one for my car? and about how much would it be

VRT MBasile Jul 20, 2006 10:07 PM

eBay <$20

nevermind, they arent out on ebay yet. do you need it for a specific problem or just to have?

spirited Jul 21, 2006 12:08 AM

well just to have, but im gettin some new springs in a week and just wanted to look at the manual.

VRT MBasile Jul 21, 2006 12:19 AM

springs are pretty easy and anyone can give you a walk-through

wait for one of these to come out for the 2006 wrx:

a few different people put them out, but they each contain the same info, which is the factory service manuals in PDF format on one cd...very helpful. If you want, I can tell you how to do springs too....fairly easy

well i just got some prodrive springs, and my friend said he'd help me but he wanted to look at the manual cuz my car is different from his nissan, its either him or a shop and the shop = $$ but i dont want him to mess up my car either so im stuck rite now.

That does appear to be what you are looking for. Hell, I should probably order one of those too, but maybe I can find it somewhere free online. I know this is cheap, but I don't wana pay 15+ $ for a pdf. Does anyone want to chip in and we can all share it / distribute it free? lol

Just go test drive an 06 WRX and while your "shopping" check out the owners manual. Might work

no, 06WRX4ME was thinking of the ownders manual

VRT Gump Jul 26, 2006 07:31 AM

Nope, there is an owners manual and then there is a specs, service, warranty manual. It might be in there. I could be wrong, but I am just trying to help.

yeah, they do throw some weird stuff in there, but they don't put in the service manual cause they like to charge a crap load of money for that. It gives you the steps on how to do a lot of stuff on the car. Hugo and I both have them for our cars, you should get one for yours.

I've found and purchased manuals from eBay before. I've also purchased a short-term (a few days) subscription from Subaru.com at a .url noted in the linked thread above to download the .pdf versions.

Even though the price online has gone up $34.95 for a 72-hour subscription from what Subaru used to charge, it's still a lot cheaper than the hard copy set of 8 or 9 large books that makes up the entire set for any model year Impreza, which runs more than $200 (I bought a set for my '02 WRX because I like to have the hard copies handy). Subaru.com also contains the latest revisions so you know that the info is the same that the factory techs are using.
