i guess if the test drive shows the car is strong then go for it? my uncle has a forester with 140K miles on it and the car starts right up on the first crank and has no problems. I'm wondering how wrx's hold up?

I'm looking for an 02-03 wagon.

That forester is probably NA.

I'll say this...it depends on the car and it's owner.

My car has almost 115,000 miles on it and it is probably in better condition and more trust worthy than a pretty big portion of the cars you'll find with 60 or 70k on them.

Here is the deal...
get maintenance reports..if the car has been properly maintained that says a lot.
Turbos get tired around 75k. Mine was totally blown up around 90...i think it started going in the late 60's.

So just look into the car's history. If it's at a dealership get a warranty. If it's private buy ask the owner a LOT of questions...try to trick them into talking about their driving style...etc.

Trust your judgement.

I have absolute faith that I could tell someone interested in my car that it'll run for a long time to come. Shoot it's got about $3000 in new dealer parts on it..haa.

good luck.
