have you thought about sanding, polishing then buffing them back to red?

I have but I'd rather find someone who is interested in smoking theirs and hooking them up with these for no charge. I'm not sure how it would look after the sanding and polishing. I'd like to be sure that they would look completely normal after the sanding but I'm just not 100% if they would or not.
