I took my WRX on a road trip from CO to MN and back this summer and it did great. My wife came with me and I don't remember hearing one complaint about the car (except that I was perhaps driving too fast on occassion).

I drive my WRX about 20 miles everyday to and from work. I also use it to go to tahoe every couple of weekends during the winter. I'm gonna drive to LA with it within the next month too.
my wrx is my only car...i drive it to work every day (30mins each way). GF used to like it...until I changed the suspension to sti v8...hahaaa. its too stiff she says. eh, it's just the way i like it

I'ts my daily driver, only because it's my only car. I use it for everything, including long road trips and hauling whatever I can fit into it. I'm currently looking to get a miata as a commuter car so I can give the wrx some rest.

I drive 30 miles to school each day and 30 miles back (duh) in my wrx. It's comfortable to me, but I really hate putting all those miles on it. Oh well, its a subie, it'll last forever. I still sort of wish I had my deathtrap 88 ranger to drive beat.

WRX - Yes, STi - probably not
I've had a regular WRX and an STi. The suspension on these cars is quite different. I drove my regular WRX on a daily basis and found the seats to be very comfortable and the driving position the best that I'd encountered in a sub $25,000 vehicle. The suspension was softened adequately to make it completely comfortable.
The STi is very different. The seats are harder, giving you a sense that you're sitting on top of it rather than down into like the regular WRX. This, coupled to the stiffer suspension, can make for a kidney bruising ride on the daily driving roads in the southeast. It's a great car that I absolutely loved for aggressive driving. But when going on general non-mountain road trips, I found myself picking up the keyes to the softer Toyota Highlander.

Hah......getting old at 29? You've got a hard road ahead of ya kid. I'm 54 and love everything about driving my 04 STi. Haven't taken it on any long runs yet, but the 3 or 4 hours runs I make in it every few weekends are comfortable enough for me. I didn't buy it for the comfort. I drive my ford Exploder (114K) to work most days. Swore I wouldn't put more than 10K/yr on the subi. But it's sooooooooooooo hard not to drive it. That's why my plate says STI4FUN.

10,000 miles in 5 months. daily driven '05 STi.
the ride's a bit harsh and the car feels like a bucket of bolts rolling down the street for a $35k car. fortunately, its performance is very redeeming. incredible to daily drive this car 30 miles to and from school including a morning and afternoon jaunt through calaveras road.

05 STi, 500 miles a week. Drive it every day. It is a bit bumpy, and it's a bit of a drag
driving in traffic on crappy 880 through oakland. I avoid certain lanes on 880 North.
(If you drive 880, you know which lanes I mean and where they are).
But I love the car so much that I can take the bumpy ride
