Wanting to additional H.P
I would like to see if I can increase H.P without having to do to many mods and keeping the car as stock as possible. Well by reading some of the threads posted I have decided that maybe a turbo xs stealth catback and uppipe will be the first mod. I know they claim 63 extra HP but what actually gets to the wheels where it counts. Also I live in the Santa Cruz area and was wondering if anyone knew of a good performance shop that specialize's in Sub's around this area.

Not sure where you got that 63 Hp number but, that is inacurate information. A cat-back will only give you about 7-14 hp seen here:
http://www.mattrandolph.com/wrx/cat-back-comparisons.htm breakdown of HP: - uppipe 8-12 HP - Downpipe 8-12 HP - Catback 7-14 HP - ECU remapping 20-25 HP Total for Uppipe, Turboback and ECU reflash: 43-63 Hp depending on the exhaust products and how well your ECU was tuned. And yes, I know a guy that has an uppipe, turboback and ECU remapped that is getting 63 additional HP to the wheels, but not with just a catback and uppipe. correction
Because I wrote this thread while very tired, I mistakenly reversed the numbers should be 36 H.P with a Turbo xs catback and uppipe. Now does anyone know of a good reputable performance shop in the San Jose area, that can help me with my quest for additional H.P,

36 hp is still to much for a catback and uppipe. Your lookin at a maximum of 25 hp at the wheels and probable more like 20hp.
It would be worth the hour drive to get your car tuned by Shiv at Vishnu Tuning. |
