I'm a sedan, but Subaru of Modesto recommended 40psi all the way around when I had my oil changed

Depends on how your tire is wearing.

Dunlops have little triangles along the edge of the tire. Proper inflation should put the edge of wear at the tip of the triangle. If you're getting wear past the triangle, you need more air. If the wear isn't reaching the triangle, you need less air.

The triangle looks like this;

That said, I've had good results with 40psi across a few different tires.

isn't there a sticker in the door jam on the driverside that gives you the specifications?

Sticker doesn't apply to every tire. Go by what the tire says. 40 PSI seems high to me or suggests a soft sidewall. I run ~34 all the way around. The 760s have those little triangles too.

Those are the car manufacturer specs to give you an ideal ride.

They might not even apply to the tires you have on your car if they are different than what came stock..... which is a majority on i-club

I think Subaru says this because the weight is more in the front than the rear so they compensate this way

That will get you great gas mileage but it will not help when you go to the track and get into a turn hard. The contact patch is smaller.

goddamn you and your string quotes!

This is why your post count is so inflated.

All tires should have markings for optimal tread wear and grip. They're usually triangles, I know Michelins have little Michelin Men pointing.
