Anyone know of good sites for info and aftermarkets for the SVX. And are they all automatic. I was thinking of picking one up because they are so rare but I wanted more info.

I keep reading that. I'm really planning on this being my project car. Th ecars appeal to me is that it is so rare and its unique look. I had a scirroco for about a month with the same idea but it had so much water damage that wasn't disclosed.
The car will also give me something to do while I wait for the STI

 

Well, just a couple things to look for when you buy one:

1) Burnt tranny (like mentioned above).
2) ATF cooler filter. This was a retrofit to 92/93 models and was then not necessary in the redesigned radiators of the 94+.
3) Rear wheel bearings. If you hear the back of the car singing, don't believe the guy when he says it's the tires

There isn't a very big aftermarket for the car, but you should be kept busy just restoring it while waiting for the STI (assuming you buy an early MY). Post pictures when you get one.

 

I'm talking with a few people right now found some pretty nice ones. I'd like to have a black or silver one. The thing i find funny so far is the variances in price 2 relativley identical cars will have like a 3K gap, and I haven't been able to figure out why. I'll pay extra for quality but not for someones sake of nasatalgia. Therer are people out there asking 7900 for a 92 with 120k miles and nothing done to the car to add the extra value.

 

Oh and do you know of any supercharger kits. Found a nice turbo one already but was curious.
Know anyone whos modded to a 5 speed?

 

I have a black '92. Although you may not think so, the dark teal is a pretty nice color also if you see it in person. I think I paid about 6500 - 7k for mine and it had a little under 100k miles on it. The guy I bought it from had great records on all the services, brand new tires, window sticker, etc. Just go over to kbb.com and get a print out, they can't really argue with that.

$7900... I think someone needs to realize they like their car too much to sell it.

 

I only know of one turbo kit for it. There is a shop in WA state that drops WRX transmissions into the SVX. If I can find their web site I'll post it. Also, Level10 (http://www.levelten.com) does good work if you want to beef up the tranny parts.

ill tell you what i would give my left nut for a supercharger for my svx because of there hp increase and the fact that they produce little or no heat. thats why i wont get a turbo because the create so much heat and there is no intercooler available due to lack of space under the hood. but if you still want a turbo for the svx check out this site http://www.forcedairtech.com/

But as far as price goes blue book for the svx with mileage under 120k is 4500-5000

this is a great car just make sure to fully insure the tranny i did and it was the best thing i ever did. the car is on its 3rd tranny but i have only put in 2 and the one im on now has been rebuilt twicel. but the insurance company has paid for mine and go the extra mile and put some mobile 1 15w-50 in it to keep the engine sealed.
