Quick question for anyone that can help, do the stock BOV have a silencer on them that you can remove or is it just made to be silent. thanks for any info

do search on intake silencer removal. this has been covered plenty times.

Basically, the BOV has no silencer of its own. But the air intake does. I did this a few weeks ago by myself, and it's really easy. It requires removing like 4 screws and some clips. Here are some top-notch instructions provided by the great people at scoobymods.

the stock valve is actually a bypass valve and not a blowoff valve. that means that it vents into a pipe that goes back into the intake instead of out to the atmosphere. that is also why you cant hear it. taking off the intake silencer makes it so you can hear it sometimes, but its still very faint.
