So I got a speeding ticket...

And on the ticket and the letter I got from the court, the licence plate is wrong. 2 letters are wrong. Also, the cop was in a rush, and after he popped my hood and *****ed about the Feel's header I had on my Prelude, he left it open and stormed off after giving me 90 in 55.

What are my chances?

I think your chances are good!

You don't have a car with the license plate he wrote down.

yeah it will get dismissed. anytime an officer writes down anything on the ticket that isn't correct then it has to be dismissed. i got a ticket dismissed that an officer wrote down 45+ in a 25 when i was actually doing 90+ in a 35. even though he had me down going faster than the posted limit, i still got off due to his error.

well he actually caught me semiracing and it was a two lane road and i was in the left lane (aka wrong side of the road) with a double yellow line in the middle.

i was able to talk him down to the speeding ticket and a ticket for passing in a no passing zone. so i ended up going to traffic school for the passing ticket and got the speeding dismissed. he didn't radar me so thats what saved me. he didn't know exactly how fast i was going and i never admitted to going over 35.

Well, I am not trying to say that it wasn't me. Obviously, he has my DL #. But, my strategy is, that if he cannot write the licence place # correct, how can he judge how fast I was going if he was pacing me or read the radar.

What ish said is true. If there is wrong info on the ticket, then they can't convict you.
You are being charged with driving a car with license plate "abc 123" at a certain
speed. They can not prove this. You get lucky

I had a street cleaning parking ticket where they wrote the wrong date. I fought it
(through the mail) and said that the date of the ticket is a wednesday, the street
cleaning is on thrusday. They sent back "NOT GUILTY"

you always hear how a murderer got away with it because of a technicality?

well, alex, this is your technicality...

fight it in court. bring your DMV records and if you get a judge who aint in a pissy mood, you might just get out of it...

I think you have really good chance fighting it off
(I remembered that I spent a few days to research about these kind of stuff when I got my first ticket....)
