So I was watching a movie today and a charactor makes mention of selling "Scooby Doo's" and I looked it up in IMDB and it came out in 1995. I was wondering if this may have been how subarus got the nick name scooby's. Anyone confirm or deny? I bought my first Impreza like 99 or 2000 and scoobymods.com had been around for a little bit at that point. So this is certainly the earliest reference I've heard. If anyone was wondering the movie it was "Forget Paris" with Billy Crystal. Anyway I was just wondering.

personally i dont the nickname 'scooby' came from that movie. i think it goes like this...

subaru > suby (subie) > scooby

its all just evolved nicknames probably created by someone who wanted to be different than the next person so he/she called they're car a scooby or whatever.

but thats just my opinion
