wouldn't it be some **** if Subaru just one day decided to say **** it and threw the bugeye back into production? I mean, does anyone know of a car company who has ever brought back a previous version of a car? It'd be going like every business concept possible, but I dunno, it'd be pretty tight...

Closest thing I can think of is when the drifters in Japan started making Sil-80's and Nissan decided to try and make some money off of the deal by offering a factory Sil-80....it flopped because it was so expensive compaired to the junkyard chops that most were doing...
Personally, I don't mind the new WRX body style. On the other hand, i bought a bug eye because I wanted a genuine Subaru product. It would be awsome if they desided to roll back to the bug eye generation.

Sure, it could happen. In about 30 years.
Ford resurrected the retro Thunderbird and retro Mustang, while Dodge is bringing back the retro Challenger. Chevy has been showing a retro-look Camaro that will likely see production.
Subaru sells more Imprezas with periodic styling updates. The bugeye doesn't fit with their corporate image of the new front grille on the Impreza and B9 Tribeca.

Jeep brought back the Charokee Classic. It looked almost identical to the old cherokees (before the Grand Cherokees) but with a bit softer lines.

I have a bugeye WRX in fine mechanical condition, 65k miles, and very good condition cosmetically. If an owner of an '06 WRX 5MT sedan in good condition would like to trade me straight across for this beautiful, limited edition 'classic', let me know.

I'd really like to see something along the lines of the GC8 come back in some form.....sort of a more hardcore turbo AWD rallycoupe (Images of the 22b come to mind). Since Subaru has so much fun producing low-number limited edition cars, they could do a run of 555 of these beasts. They will be stripped down, reinforced, higher-boost, stiffer suspensioned, bigger braked, stickier-tired, way louder version 2 door coupe.

I remember how they had a problem recreating the original 240Z badge because Nissan (Datsun) didn't have the original plate to produce the badges.
