How much should I pay for a new 2003 2.5RS or WRX?

Hi guys,

I'm in the market for a new awd vehicle since I'm moving to Colorado. I just need basic mode of transportation and have driven both the RS and the WRX. I know that most dealers (in Texas at least) are sold out of 2003 models but I did manage to find a few left. I prefer getting an automatic since I'll mostly be doing city driving and have a car that everyone can drive. The dealer MSRP price for a 2003 WRX is $26,528 which includes an auto transmission, auto dimming mirror/compass, security system, and spoiler. On the other hand, the 2.5RS is $21,045 MSRP and has an auto tranny, security system and spoiler. What do you guys think would be a reasonable price for these cars? I have read earlier threads with people that have gotten awesome deals. It seems like now is a GREAT time to buy a 2003 model. Thanks for your input!

If you are not in it for the power go with the 2.5. But you should be able to find a dealer that will show you dealer invoice and go a little above that. I would always talk to the internet manager because they get fleet sales which will be a good amount cheaper than most any floor salesperson will get you. I would think you should be able to get out the door(tax, title, license...) for about 24k for a wrx but I don't know for a 2.5 cause I never looked at those.

my $0.02

You should be able to get well under invoice for either car (if you can still find one). I got mine for about $800 under invoice plus 0.0% for 2 years.

I would go for the wrx and you should be able to get it for cheaper. Youll thank yourself you bought it over the rs everytime you nail the throttle.
