how much does an average person drive per year?
I have a 2003 rs which was purchased back in may 2003. i have driven it for 9071 miles and im getting ready for the 10k checkup at redwood city. My buddy said the average person drives 12k miles a year.

i put 4300 since 7/6/03, but i also drive beater car so i dont put alot of miles on it

~12k is the general consensus among insurance agencies, etc. Personally, I drove about 17,000 my first year. .....but I always tend to drive a few thousand more my first year.

I usually tend to drive 30K a year. I need to buy a beater but it wouldnt be fun to drive. Also does anyone tell their ins company the actual mileage they drive annualy??

insurance companies ask you for your milage because part of your rate is based off of the amount of driving you do per year. your rate is based on a ton of factors from what your previous driving record, milage per year, type of car and so on.
