basically u cant go that fast and handle with a street m3. canyon run with m3? m3 is good for braking but not for handling. thats why lots of fools be crashing, the other day my friend in an auto matic 350z crashed in the mountains, because his car was automatic. and he was going too fast like that m3, his car flipped but he survived. fools goto know that u shouldnt try being initial D with automatic m3's or 350z, initial D is drifting with jdm manual cars. such as evo and impreza. MANUAL, u need to have manual gears to handle and survive in the mountains. hope fools learn. besides m3's are too heavy, if u want to go mountain racing, get a lighter better handling manual car.

dowshift...post that somewhere else.

James wasn't even the driver so talking about "fools better learn" does not apply to him and is not too cool. Would you go to a mans funeral and talk about his foolishness to his friends...that's what you guys are all doing here.

Wasn't a good idea...but we all make mistakes. I pray for the driver and passenger that they recover well and deal with this tragedy well...along with the families..this will effect a lot of people for the rest of their lives.

The driver is going to face the judicial system and I hope he gets treated fairly and makes it through ok. Dealing with the mistake is going to be torture on him and his family.

There is a lot more here to talk about and show respect for than dwelling on the mistake and how it could or should have been. We all screw up, we all make bad judgement calls and have been in cars with people that have.....so drop it.

Show some respect for this man's family...the friends and family of all of those involved....turn this into a tread of good memories and good words....a place his family can come and read and feel comforted.

Hey guys,

It doesn't matter if he was driving an M3, WRX or even a civic. The people who were hurt still share a common passion for cars as do we. Unfortunately not all of "us" are smart and have common sense yet it really bothers me when someone gets hurt or fatally injured. At the end of all the games and trash talking we all love cars, performance and the never ending thrill of modifying your car and racing it at one point or another.

My condolences goes out to our fallen brothers.

No, it was the guy at the rear seat that got killed... Not the driver. The driver is suffered searious injuries though. Get your facts before you open your mouth.

A lighter and better handling car will not help in this case at all, it is all about the driver. Funny that you actually mentioned Initial D, if there's any thing you should learn from it, it would be "it's the driver that matters, not the car"

Also I have some serious problem with what you said regarding auto tranny. The dude in the 350Z did not crash because the Z was an automatic. It crashed because of the driver and/or some other causes. What does a car being automatic has to do with this? I really dont' get it. Give me an automatic 911, don't even have to be the Turbo, I can drift around all day, or at least somebody who got the skill can... Or give me an SL55 and I or someone who's got the skill can show you that an heavy automatic car and still drift given the right skill.

Gee, do you even know what you are talking about? The problem with automatic gearbox are...

1. torque convertor is not efficient, hence they invented auto tranny that can lockup, helps a bit.

2. automatic gearbox tend to shift slower and smoother. Again, because of the torque convertor. There are both pro and con to this property though.

An manual gearbox doesn't make the car handle better, except they are usually lighter than the automatic ones, which usually implies better handling. But that would be the reduced weight!!!

You are a disgrace...

Before you flame, please at least enlighten me on how/why a manual gearbox will make the car handle better?

I can try to help you out with one... usually more wheel power with the manual tranny, faster exit speed, easier to induce a drift, but that's due to more power, like the reduced weight with manual gearbox, are not because the fundamental differences between the two.

Both of you STFU
I am entitled to my own opinion, and that would be the following.

1. Downshift does not know what he is talking about.

2. Downshift got no respect to the people involoved in the accidents

3. You can feel free to say STFU to me, but at the same time I can say YOU should STFU. Read what he said... think about it... before you ask me to STFU
