E85
Hi guys I'm wondering if my 2006 sti can run e85 ethanol?
My sti has: Cobb air box system Cobb stage 2 catback system Accessport Changed the Ecu to stage 2 91 octane But everything is stock HOONIGAN |
I'm not sure if Cobb makes an e85 accessport map. If they do then yes otherwise you will have to get a tune. But to answer your question yes you can run e85
|
Cobb does not make a OTS map for E85. You're going to have to run at least 850cc injectors with an upgraded fuel pump at minimum. Contact local tuners in your area to see if they protune for E85.
|
Youll need a fuel pump and injectors with a protune.
|
Why would he need injectors and a fuel pump with a stock turbo?

Cause E85 uses 30% More Fuel. Fuel Pump, Bigger Injectors, some kind of boost controller (3 port boost solenoid is my recommendation) and a tune is a must on E85. Instead of asking all of us, you should be asking a local tuner in your area if there are experts in tuning for E85. |
Sup ralph you will need injectors and fuelpump and pro tune you could do 850cc minumum but i would do 1000cc ID Great injectors a lot of people running that injector on e85 with stock turbo.

ID1000's, Aeromotive 340lph pump, boost controller, and custom tune will get you running on E85 with a lot more power and torque :)

-- Ed
^^^ What that guy just said. |
hes currently on a cobb catted turboback setup, not catback.
Can't wait to be in the car after your e85 tune. Should just called me for the info! I want e85 so badddd |

-- Ed
Hey Ed, for running E85 you recomended me a while back 850cc as a room-to-grow size for injector alongside a Walbro 255 pump for a TD04, 2L motor (04 WRX). Is there a general rule of thumb for injector/pump ratio per approximate power increase? I get it'll be more complicated than that and that more is of course more, just curious what the rough angle of trend is. |

The fuel pump has to be sized accordingly to provide enough flow and pressure. -- Ed |

-- Ed
Copy that, and thanks for the response. Is an aftermarket fuel presure regulator and/or pressure gauge needed, a "good idea," or not altogether not necessary? At what point might either be needed, if at all? |
Not necessary at all at this level. Generally only required once you have upgraded rails and such.

-- Ed
Good to know, thank you sir. Hope this also answers questions others didn't even know they had! |
