Does this ever happen to you?
I replaced burned out light bulb three days ago for my OBS wagon. I bought it at local atuo shop, the numbers were right - i took out an old bulb from the tail light and put the new one in. The first day went by without any problem. But my car was start acting up the next day, first CHECK ENGINE light came on and everytime i hit the break, whole interior light would lit up!!!!! I was like WTF!!? So i took my car to subaru this morning, let them run thru the computer and they found out that i have bought the wrong kind of light bulb!! Basically, my electrical system went crazy for ONE wrong bulb...

Electrical is funny that way.
we actually had a proffessor at Ford Training School, bug a car to do this, he bent the wire on the tailight filament (dual filament bulb) to come in contact with the brake light filament so every time you would step on the brake it would feed power though the tail light circuit, wich inturn fed power through all the parking lights and interior dash board lights causing them to illuminate everytime you hit the brakes.
it was a very easy problem to find
.
so in short if you bought the wrong type of bulb, it probably didnt line up correctly in the socket, causing pretty much the same problem as above.
