Disturbing front end sound @ high speed
 

Hey there,

I posted a similiar question on the newbie board, but figured it was a newbie board (duh) and no one would know how to fix it. Anyways, I have an 06 wrx wagon, "limited", at speeds 100+, (always done in a safe environment...) a high pitched whine comes from the front of the car. I'm not sure if its coming from the vertical vanes in the air scoop or something else:confused: Whatever it is it's rather distracting when you're going that fast. Anyone else heard of this?

It's the mirrors. Fold them in and it should go away.

the splitters also make some nasty sounds over 100mph

Thanks for the input. I don't think its the mirrors. The noise definately comes from the front hood area. I'll have to double check everything.

it could be the scoop aswell. my friend has a scoopless RS hood and when he gets up to high speeds there is not a lot of noise. but in my car when you hit close to 90mph it begins to make the whining sound you stated.
