Anyone ever towed in the wrx wagon?

Has anybody actually towed anything in their WRX wagon yet? I think the recommended max is 2000 lbs. Does the hitch look lame on a wagon that may be lowered with a body kit on it in the future?

And even if you do tow less than the 2000 lbs including trailer, is it still bad for the engine in the long run?

It would probably be hard on the transmission and the rear diff more then the motor. Basically if you want to tow something it had better be a really small trailor and a jet ski cause thats about all you will want to try and tow with the car. Just not enough low end torque and its still just a unibody design.

Towing with a WRX

We tow a small trailer with our Forester without any problems and I frequently flat-tow a VW Rabbit ice racer with my Acura Integra. The only advice I can offer from the VW/Acura experience is just take everything real easy. Leave plenty of braking room, let the driveline equalize before shifting (it shouldn't be either pulling or coasting), and make sure your tire pressures are set properly. I can't imagine that a WRX would have any problems moving a modest load.
