Impreza 3-door hatchback (base 1.8L, base 2.0L, turbo 2.0L)
Impreza 5-door sports wagon (base 2.5L, turbo 2.0L, turbo 2.5L)
Impreza 4-door Sedan (base 2.5L, turbo 2.0L, turbo 2.5L)

Well, looking at how Citroen has been wildly successful in the WRC as of late, it makes sense.. Unfortunately you have to change the car that is sold to people as well.
However, changing the overall body style sorta makes it lose its uniqueness over the other cars... I'm not a big fan of hatchbacks, since it makes me think CRX. In this case.. CRX with a big wing..

im ok with the hatch back thing its just the grill that looks like poop and the headlights look like they were ripped off of a pugot.
in terms of what the impreza sti truely is, subaru is just ruining all the credibility it has. in my opinion they should have just kept upgrading the design from 2003 (the one not released in the u.s.). but since the sti is a world rally car, it's not suprising that they're turning the design into a hatch because all the other competition (skoda, ford, citroen, and peugeot) are all hatchbacks. i don't know what to think of this design. it doesn't look like a subaru, it looks like a seat leon cupra r.

I'll say it again for those of you with poor reading comprehension skills:
This is a photochop. It is not real. Subaru is not making this hatch. Please do a search. This entire discussion was hashed out a couple of months ago.

Definitely a photochop...I don't see why Subaru would feel the need to make a hatch anyway, the current Impreza with Solberg behind the wheel (and others before him in previous versions) have proven that Subaru can win rallies. I just hope they change the 2007 Impreza and go as far away from the 2006 look as possible.

The Hatch images are of the Subaru R1 and R2... hopefully we will never see it in the U.S.
