Pre-wired? (without stereo)
 

Hi,

I know the STi doesn't come with a stereo.. but I was wondering if the doors and rear are at least prewired?

Anyone know?

They come with speakers too....I heard they were boston acoustic speakers but I am not sure

The USDM STi does NOT come with speakers. The WRX does.
You will need spacers for most aftermarket quality speakers...

Thought they were pre wired. Opened up doors, no wires???
Well, I didn't open doors, but the guy at shop said no wires. Now that I think of it, he did a lousy job on install. Probably had wires but he didn't know what they were 4.

Anyway, speakers fit but needed allot of spacer help (this I witnessed). At first window kept hitting speaker. We got it with a little playing around.

I do remember seeing "pre-wired" advertised. I know 4 a fact that the US don't come with speakers, unless U have dealer put in stereo. I pray nobody would consider stock stereo, esp. @ price they ask. The lack of stereo is a real blessing in disguise. In fact, listening to the car for first 3 weeks was a real treat!!!!!!

Now I pollute the cockpit with load music. Never hear the engine, until I hit the limiter that is.

The wires are in the doors terminating into plastic connectors. They are tucked inside the sheet metal attached with plastic push in holders...

wow this installer must be pretty stupid, because i searched on scoobymods.com and i found out how to take apart the door. i saw the wires tucked behind the plastic. i didnt want to mess with the soor be drilling any holes of my own so i just brought it to a place to install my speakers

The sti I was in had speakers in it and the guy said that it came with it. It still had no head unit tho. The guy prolly didn't know what he was talking about. Does anyone know what size speakers will fit?
