Got my STi, no waiting list
A co-worker came back from leaving his WRX at the dealers and told me the service person said the dealership was getting STi's in every week and they were gone in a couple of days. So I went down on my lunch hour to check them out and they had a white STi in the showroom. I asked about it and turns out the guy who'd ordered it didn't like the gold wheels and turned it down. They did have a 40 person waiting list but no one on the list wanted a white car. I actually wanted a blue one, but as I had no objection to a white car I bought it!

Carlson Subaru in Redwood City, CA. I paid $32,217 plus tax & license.
I let a friend of mine take it out by himself last weekend. When he came back I asked him how he liked the car. He's a quiet sort of guy and never swears, but he said, "IT'S A F**KING ROCKET!"
Two guys were driving in the lane next to me checking out the car and almost drove into a signal light pole.
So sweet.
