Speaker sizes

Hey.. I was wondering what kind of speakers I can fit in my 2004 WRX. Ive heard that you can fit 6.5" in the front.. but im not sure about the back speaker size. Also, I got a stereo with 2 PG 12's and it rattles the back part like crazy. Any Idea what I can use to soften up the rattles a bit, something besides dynamat cause that gets expensive.

For the back you can put 5.25" fairly easily(though some of the speaker may be covered by the door panel) or you can do what I did and rip the stock speaker from the plastic bracket and screw an aftermarket 4" speaker right into that. As far as dynamat, the only other thing i can suggest is rammat(i think it's called that) it's basically the same thing from what I've gathered but is a bit cheaper. good luck.

I was looking at some PG 6" components for the front the other day, but I am wondering if they will mount ok? I'm also unsure about taking off the door panel, I don't want to break anything...
:(

Taking the door panel off isn't too hard but it definately take patience and possibly some dexterity :)
Theres a great guide at http://users.sisna.com/ignatius/subaru/mods/
As for the speakers, what's the mounting depth? Depending on what sized spacer you use you can fit pretty deep ones.

with the right adapter plate you can fit vitually any 6.5" in the front. Same with 6". I've seen some at www.iaperformance.com. Worth checking out.

check the mouting debth of those PG's. They may fit with the adapters that east coast builds.

I know from my experience with PG...their speakers are pretty deep and the magnets pretty large. Their top of the line stuff is good....real good but for the dollar amount I'd go boston or focal.

The midrange pg stuff....it's pretty good but I'd probably go with JL Audio.
