well the light on the dash behind the steering wheel should blink fast right after activation and then blink once like every 3sec after that till the alarm is turned off...

as for the lights not blinking i have no clue...only think i can think of is that some sensor didn't reset properly when you changed the battery?

when exactly should the light begin to flash cause i think mine flashes as soon as the car is turned off. is it standard for the outside ambers to flash when alarm is turned on/off or is there a way of changing it.

Your alarm is now in valet mode. Open the drivers door and press the unlock button on the remote for several seconds, this will cancel valet mode and restore normal operation.

That was it. thanks for the help. oh, so how do u then turn this mode back on, the same way or is there another way cause i wasn't sure when i tried it.

Valet mode- alarm not operating
Standard mode- alarm operating

To change the alarm mode on or off, same procedure. Hold open/unlock while door is open.
