Factory stereo and security upgrades

I'm plannin 2 go to the local Subaru dealer to install some exhaust upgrades soon as thelast part comes in from KastleK.
Background. My 03 WRX sedan(purchased in April) lacks the security upgrade and also has no upgrades on the stereo. I could see asking the dealer to install these things -I'm even thinkin about proposing to trade one or more factory part (car has <2k miles right now) for some kind of chit like a reduced-cost stereo upgrade, can't hurt to ask anyway.
But I digress.
The questions.
1. Is it worth it to upgrade to the higher security system, in terms of cost/benefit (eg, insurance savings). How much would that likely be, assuming the dealer doesn't accept my crazy-a** trade proposals?
2. Is it worth it to upgrade the factory stereo or should I just go to third party stuff? If yes, which gets me more bang4buck, the speaker upgrade or the subwoofer package?

On the security system I'm not sure.
But on the stereo that's really your choice. I can tell you the stock Head Unit and speakers are terrible. The upgraded speakers do sound nice but nothing compared to after market. And the after market are going to be cheaper.
Here's what I've got (or will have in two days) in my 04 Impreza TS. I've got a post just before yours in this forum on the same subject.
- Kenwood MP3/CD HU (already installed)
- OEM Subaru Subwoofer from a 2000 OBS. 80watt. The OEM for your car and newer is 120watt. It is a panasonic sub with an aluminum speaker. Believe it or not it is pretty good for its size. And it fits under the driver seat saving you space in the trunk.
- Polk GXR5A and Polk GXR4A for the door speakers.
My HU has a 22watt internal amp which is enough to drive the door speakers.
I price out the above door speakers at around $100 from crutchfield. They also include all the necessary brakets to make the speakers fit my odd size car.
The Subaru speaker upgrades with the tweater kit will be around $190. And around $130 w/out the tweater kit. That is from www.subaruwrxparts.com
The subaru 120watt sub can be had for $175 from the same site.
I hope any of the info helps you decide.
