door panal vibrations
i want this to appeal to those that know what i'm talking about when you're listening to music and it hits that certain low frequency and all of the sudden you hear the door panals start to vibratle/rattle and make noise. it doesn't have to be loud, i'm still stock bottom end radio w/ regular speakers, and it can be under 10, all it takes is that frequency and suddenly there's a bunch of woodpeckers in my doors in a frenzy.
what have you tried doing about it and has it worked to eliminate all the rattling?

I just started to notice this my self. When I listen to rave music and the lows start to beat fast the whole door panel vibrates. I have kenwood's up front with a pioneer 7400mp deck. I found that pushing on the drivers door stops the vibration but it does fix it on the pax door. I'm planning on takeing the door panels off in the next couple days. I'll let you know how I fix it. I had installed dynamatted the doors, about 6" square around the speakers when I installed it. Im thinking a styrofoam block behind the door panel to keep pressure on it should fix it.
Also when I had put the speakers in last time I couldnt figure out how to disconnect the plug to the door buttons on the drivers side, I got the Pax one off no prob. Can any one tell me the trick to the drivers one?

yah, the driverside door harness for the windows and power locks has a clip in the center. Push down on it with a small
- screw driver as you pull them apart. should come off easily.
do not push/pull on the tabs on the sides of the plugs, those
are i think clips to hold the wires in place.

Thanks for the tip kenchan, I shoulda noticed that clip
Anyway this is what I found, on my drivers side the speaker spacer that i had may was vibrating a little. That was easy to fix. But the Pax side which was the worst side, I found that the clear plastic piece thats suppost to keep water out of the door was vibrating like a ****. There is a section of the door with a large "hole" in it and the air that the speaker pushes in the frame of the door uses this "hole" to leave the door frame and the plactic is in the way so it vibrated at the same freqency as the speaker! Im thinking of just putting a large section of dynamat over the plastic shell. That should fix my prob. I'm open to suggestions though. Im not going to be able to try that till monday but u might want to pull your door apart quick and see if its the same thing. From your discription it sounds like it.

I had the same problem and got rid of 90%+ of the rattling. I have a 45x5 watt head and now I can turn on the fronts and not worry about any rattles below about 30 watts (per speaker). By the way, I have Kenwoods in the front.
I took the door panels off, took my fronts out, and lined the speaker hole with some electrical tape to give it some cushioning. I overlapped the tape to the inside of the door.
I rolled both front windows up. I put in my Aphrodite cd and turned it up unstill the speaker started to crackle. There was no rattling. I then rolled the windows down and did the same test and got the same results. (Which is good news, now I can focus on the door panel.)
I took out the plastic fasteners on the door panel and lined the plastic edge of the door panel with rubber weather stripping I got from Home Depot. They also sale foam weather stripping but the rubber one has a stronger adhesive so I went with that. Get the thinnest you can find or else the fasteners on the door panel wont grip the door. I ended up getting a "d" shaped weather stripping and not the flat stuff. (They had the flat stuff on display but I couldn’t find it on the shelve. If you look at the weather stripping on the side it will look like a "d".)
I tightened down some of the screws that are on the door panel itself about half a turn and was very careful not to strip out the plastic.
I put some rubber cement on the door fasteners mount and put the fasteners back on. Its ok if they overlap on the weather stripping a bit.
I then put the door panel back on.
I then put some electrical tape on the metal mount where that gold screw goes. I then covered the screw with electrical tape.
This is the tough part. I lined the edges of the door panel where the mount for the window and door lock switch goes with the weather stripping. You have to be careful because if you don’t do it right (which I didn’t) then the weather stripping will come out of the sides. I guess it’s not a big deal if its black weather stripping but the stuff I got was white. It was a tight fit to get the mount for the window and door lock back on but it was nice and snug before I finally bolted it down. I then took a flat head screw driver from an eye glass repair kit and pushed the weather stripping back down between the door panel and the mount. I bolted everything down.
I then turned the radio on and still had a few rattles. I noticed that the vibration was coming from the bottom of the door panel (I'd push on it and it would stop rattling) and saw that the weather stripping moved. I separated the door panel from the door a bit and repositioned the weather stripping to the edge of the door panel and that took care of the rattling.
I’m so happy I have a radio I can jam back!!! I HATE it when it rattles. I still have one slight rattle when I go above 30 watts on the passenger side but I’m happy for now.
Good luck!!!
Took about 2 hours but I got side tracked a few times.
