TCRA Willow Springs May 29th and 30th

"Due to popular demand, TCRA decided to make the 4WD/Turbo Time Trial Challenge an official point and trophy award program for 2004. There are 2 classes in this time trial series for both 4 cylinder and 5-6 cylinder cars. Points and trophies will be award at each event and the drivers with the most points will be crowned the Champions of this exciting NEW series. If you think you got the right stuff to the claim to fame…see you on the grid!"

Alright, here's the deal. My Bro-in-law works for TCRA and is offering a special deal for us. Normally the cost for a 2-day race school plus time trial event is $280.00. Only for this event, the special price is $230.00 for both days. This event also gets you a TCRA racing license and qualifies you for TCRA racing points as well if you decide to continue in their racing series for 2004. We need a minium of 10 total participants for this discount. For those that participated in the March 27-28 event, youll be running in the green group and our discounted price is $175.00 for both days. One day sessions are also discounted at $145.00 per day. Time transponder rental are available at $30.00 per day.

Details:

This event is scheduled for May 29th - 30th at Willowsprings (The Big Track).
Sat May 29th consists of instructor-led and classroom schooling with 4-5 sessions of practice either by yourself or with an instructor.
Sun May 30th includes 3 sessions of further practice with a final 3 lap session that counts towards your final race time (best of 3 laps) with the transponder.
Helmets are required but M2000 are accepted for this special event only for first time participants. Future events will require SA95 or higher helmets. Time trial and school drivers at a minimum must wear a long-sleeved shirt, and long pants. (Shirt, pants, and under clothes should be 100% natural fibers (i.e. cotton or wool). The intent is to provide some skin protection from heat and flame without resorting to a fire retardant driver's suit. Synthetic fibers will melt and stick to the skin. (We aren't going to check the labels, but do yourself a favor and wear natural fibers.) All drivers must wear closed gloves that cover the entire hand to at least the wrist, and shoes that cover the entire foot (no open-toe shoes or sandals). (Fire retardant racing gloves and shoes are highly recommended).

Tech inspection will need to be performed - FREE inspections will be done the Sat May 22th before the event at:
1035 S. Fremont Ave.
Alhambra, CA 91803
626-293-3237
There are other locations that can also do the tech inspections for $10.00. Click http://www.touringcarclub.com/details/details_sites.shtml for a listing of participating shops.
Otherwise, tech inspections can also be done on the day of the event for $20.00. Tech Inspection forms can be foundhere.
You will need to sign a Liability Release form which can downloaded here.

Payments can be made at the Alhambra location, either in person or by mail. If by mail, please specify "May 29-30 TCRA TURBO/AWD TIME TRIAL CHALLENGE" event. Payments can also be made on the day of the event only on Sat March 24th. They accept CC, checks and good ole cash as well. Sorry, TCRA is not setup to accept paypal payments.

Lastly, numbers will need to be added to the cars. Either by decals, masking tape or grease pens. Numbers are also available for sale for $2.00 each at the event. Only requirement is that the numbers are at least 10" high.

That's it! Hopefully we can get enough ppl to come out for this great deal! And if your the fastest, you'll also claim a TCRA trophy as well!

Any questions, please post here and I'll try to get them answered for you. You can also visit www.touringcarclub.com for further details and read event descriptions and Member's handbook.

I'll be posting this as well on the other Subaru boards and Mitsu sites as well.

Thanks!
