2009 SCCA RallyCross Nat. Challenge Championship San Diego 9/26-27/09

The San Diego Region SCCA will host the Western RallyCross National Challenge Championship event on September 26-27 at Soak City Water Park in Chula Vista, CA. This event follows the Eastern Challenge Championship the weekend prior and will be a show case of the who’s who in RallyCross West of the Rockies. The SCCA Nationals will follow in Farmington Colorado two weeks later. This event is open to all competitors with a current SCCA Member card and individuals that complete a temporary SCCA Membership at the event site ($15). We have some great sponsors coming on board and prize packages for the trophy winners. A state of the art timing and scoring system with a crew to match will keep the quality of this two day competition second to none on a flowing and challenging .7 mile long course.

In the next day or so the Supplementary Rules and Regulations (includes competition schedule) will be found here: http://www.sdr-scca.com/RallyCross/Schedule/. There will be a lot more information to come as well as online entry at rallydata.com. Please read all of the information as it becomes available!

Really nice to see someone has posted about this event. I'm trying to see how many people on I-Club do rallycross and would be going to this event. 50 people have looked at this thread. Did you know that Subaru has a contingency program for this event? 1st place is $750.00 2nd $450.00 3rd $200.00, not bad for an amateur sport.

Staar, were you going to go?

Wow, 22 more views in a short amount of time and no posts. I wish people could remember that specifically the Impreza line of Subarus were manufactured for a far more extreme sport than rallycross. The only thing you really need to buy is some material to make mud flaps out of and you're good to go. I don't have anything bad to say about the I-Club, but it is what makes me appreciate that Dirtyimpreza fills the need for a site for Subaru enthusiasts that want to do more than driving on the street. Respond in anger if you want to, but at least you'll respond to the fact that people are working to make this event happen and Subaru is "giving away" all that money for a young amateur sport. Not bad when you consider that you can compete in a daily driver.

The event was the best run "big" event I've been to since my first rallycross in 2003. Too bad more people weren't able to make it. The San Diego region plan to have another event before the end of the year if all goes well. If anyone can make it out, you'll be glad you do. Thanks to all who helped make this event happen.

BTW, I got my share of the Subaru contingency money, $750.00 ftw.
