Training Wheels
Maybe I should refraze that to trading wheels. Two weeks ago I bought an 03 blk. I havent driven a cage other than the ol'ladie's soccermom van for the past three years. Coming from riding a HAYABUSA for the past three years, the WRX is a pleasing experience. My first inclination was to get a personalized plate that say MC EATER but that would only be asking for trouble. After I get my ducks in a row, I'm planning on kicking up this little rocket to the next level. I look foward to picking your brains and getting some ideas together and hooking up with some of you SO.CAL. locals.

Val,The only thing I'm trying to smoke is my sidewalls. I havent looked around the boards yet.........so I dont know the rules yet.
The boards I'm used to have no rules. ie: profanity, porn and flame wars. I'm just being polite. I'm real enthusiastic about this vehicle and am looking foward to making it as nasty as I can. Give me a hit if I start to go over the top. |
Whoa! Is your name Scott too?? What a coincendance. I was replying to "crowbar."
Sorry for the confusion. You are welcome here to say anything you want, I am an advocate of free speech! Val |
Thats funny I didnt even think twice that you didnt know my name. freedom of speech and thought.

You will see some wicked cars! |
I'm still riding a BUSA. IT taught me a lesson last August. I highsided at 70 mph busted both collarbones and four ribs.
I needed a car for work and the WRX was one of the only cars that could pace me in the mountains. besides if the CHP bought them to catch us sportbike riders they must be something. Now I'm tweaking .........I just read a thread about break in on this car and they were talking about keeping the rpms down under 4 grand for the first 1K. HA! No Way! So I go look in the owners manual.....sure enough. the salesman told me they run these engines in at the factory and just not to keep sustained speeds. Who's the sites GURU? |

Most of us are guru's here in different aspects! Anyways, yes you should break the car in gingerly in a 1000 miles. Don't drive at one speed though, vary the speed and RPMS and you should be fine! Val |
donut tree? I'm 70 miles north of L.A.
nevermind I read the general forum sticky. |
breaking in cars and bikes are diferrent. bikes you definately keep the rpms down for the first 5 or 600 miles. cars I always took the attitude break it in like your going to drive it. I'm not really a straight line driver or rider for that matter, but Ive definately worked the engine. I dont notice any real diferrence since I drove it of the lot. other than drivetrain and engine noise more apparent, but that could be just me becoming more atune to the car.

that is really strange, i thought that it was the other way around. but other than that, i think that the wrx is just a noisy car to begin with. |
MC engines are not run in at the factory. but Ive been told by many peeps that car engines are.
Icould be wrong Ive been wrong before. HEHEH |
