under normal driving conditions its fine. For track use its best to have a 5 point harness( 5th is the crotch strap).

The reason for this is because in a standard seat belt it is possible for you to slip through the bottom or through the clip side of the belt. A 4 point will hold you in however without the 5th point you can still slip under the harness.

So as long as you don't slam straight into a wall you should be ok.

Safety is number #1 when it comes to fixing up and driving your car, Not some crazy JDM stuff, Work wheels with lip, tein flex w/edfc you never use, a used AP you got off someone, or running 0 weight oil. It's all about safety.

on top of that its better to use a bucket seat with a 5 point harness. As long as teh seat is FIA approved.

Bucket seats non reclinable imo are better than adjustable. They're fixed posistion, holds you in, and with a 5 point harness you are pretty much locked in and can not go anywhere from that point.
