Suspension Set-up question...for Fontana Speedway

My friend has an '05 STi with Tein Flex coilovers and running new 255/35/18 T1Rs.

What alignment settings do you guys suggest for California Speedway? How about dampening setting for the coilovers? Tire pressure?

I put this in SCIC because you guys probably have the most experience with this track.

hey windingroad, why didnt he go with 255/35/18? if he's using 225's, he should be using a 40 sidewall, not a 35! as for suspension setting, it depends on which version Tein Flex he has. Either the newer one (That's supposely simular to the JDM spec) or the older one which was geared towards comfort. Either way, i suggest him setting the rears stiffer than the fronts or have them be even. as for tire pressure, i say play around with it. When my car was at the track, we ran 36 front and 38 rear cold.

Which configuration is the track going to be?

I agree the tire size seems a bit off dunnojack

A 225 tread width 35% aspect which is 78mm sounds pretty harsh. Either a bent rim, suspension somethings got to give with that size. If it was 255 I would be cool because it compensates the aspect ration rather than the traditional 40%.

Don't worry about the suspension setting too much. its a street car, not a race car.

I usually don't mess with the heights or rates, not even the alignment, I want the car to stand on "0"

Play with the dampers and tire pressure

I run all maxed dampening and the tire pressure is 28 F 32 R cold. If the car slide to much when I left I drop the pressure in the back. oh yea I run 17x8
