GEO metro with EJ20 twin scroll maybe

This little machine is soooo much better than my old Rs. Japanese parts are just to expensive to buy for repairs. American parts are reasonably priced, though I haven't needed to buy any parts yet! And this car is so easy to work on! Changing the oil only takes about 10 minutes, and everything is so conveniently located.

For a little car, it sure is comfy. And there aren't all the silly bells and whistles that come with most cars. Just a good, simple little way to get around. And cute, too. It really attracts the ladies like flies on honey!!

This is an excellent little car. It is very reliable, durable and cute. You don't see many of these around anymore, but believe me, it's a gem. Acceleration is not as bad as people say, I've actually squealed my front tires pulling out of a stoplight (which takes practice with a 3-cylinder engine--you have to have the right combination of gas pedal and clutch pedal). The interior is very spacious. Space was well-utilized to create a roomy atmosphere in this car. When inside it, it feels like a big car. Also this is the first sub-compact ever to meet North American crash test standards, so I feel pretty safe in it. It does very well on the highway, but is a little difficult to maneuver through city streets due to the lack of power steering. Strange, isn't maneuverability what the car was built for? Anyway, sub-compacts don't get much better than the Metro. With gas prices rising higher than ever, it's hard to find a good used one. But if you do, snatch it up immediately!

downhill battle I vote for Metro. especially on a one way super narrow downhill path w/o guard rail.

S2000 just looks crappy comparing to the metro.

STi's can't rally for crap.

This is the amamiya metro they use to race on tsukuba circuit. as you can see the dunlop tire on the circuit course behind the metro.

The metro come in a racing wagon version as well.. its definitely a chick magnet..

What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air Conditioner is weak.

Front brakes replaced at 110,000 miles.

Muffler system replaced at 110,000miles.

Alternator belt replaced at above miles.

General comments?
I have the 1997 Geo Metro Lsi Hatchback, 1.3 L manual transmission.

The car is peepy. Considering its small engine it is not far from the peep of my other sports car-Toyota MR2, Mitsubishi VR4, Mercedes SLC and Firebird.

The cargo capability of the hatchback is huge when back seat is folded down.

Gas mileage is great. 35-40 miles per gallon in the city and up to 50 miles per gallon in the highway.

I change the oil every 10,000 miles and tuned it up only ones.

It so versatile. I use it for daily commute, have used it for long commute during vacations, used to carry big stuff like my pick-up truck and used it for camping. The front seats recline well, better than my other bigger cars and this very convenient in resting in rest areas during long trips.

I have owned over 30 cars and still have 19, but my favorite is this purple Geo Metro Hatchback. I dressed up the interior like my limousine. I love this car and planning to keep it forever. If I have to keep only one car, this is it-My 1997 Geo Metro Hatchback Lsi.

I know Suzuki used to make a small displacement V8. 2.0l (1.6L?) or something like that. Why not cram THAT in there. Its pretty light and with a roll cage, i'm thinking ghetto cooper mini. oh ya.. i sense pwnage..
