SPI Motorsports
Does anyone know where SPI Motorsports is? They are supposed to be located in SoCal. Here's their address: SPI Motorsports
23663 Rockfield Blvd Lake Forest CA, 92630 I was just wondering if anyone has ever been there. Thanks. |
They're a division of Irvine Subaru...
Haven't been there myself, but I'd guess they're near or next to their showroom. C |
SPI motorsports is no longer affiliated with Irvine Subaru. The name and all entities dealing with SPI is owned by a former employee of Irvine Subaru. Who is now the General Manager at South Coast Subaru.
Currently SPI is on a 'sebatical' if you will. And currently there are no plans to open in the new location. As South Coast has their own parts division which is currently being run by Ferdie, and is very capable of getting whatever you're looking for. Irvine is struggling to keep their aftermarket division up and running. They are currently only doing so from the resulting confusion of customers still thinking SPI is out of their dealership. Chris. My $.02, go to South Coast Subaru, or Aerosim Research, or whomever else you wish... |
I wouldn't concern yourself too much with SPI. Like Chris said there are others to buy from. And if you are referring to the person I am thinking that is "GM" of SCS then he has already left that job and pursued another career.

No, I am not familiar with Horatio so if he is the GM then Im thinking someone else. Someone else was with SPI and went to SCS for a really short time and has already left for another company, which does not deal with Subaru parts.

HIN is where he is at now
he rides bikes and is done with subaru |
yep, he has moved to the rice-side. Its cool though, I know the production manager and someone else that runs the show.

Me leaving Subaru has nothing to do with 'riding bikes and being done with Subaru.' It has everything to do with me being done with this business in general. It stopped being fun and was time for me to move on.
Yes, I work for Vision Event now (the parent company of HIN). It was the best decision I've ever made. When things went down with the Irvine/SPI split I thought long and hard about whether or not I wanted to stay in this business. Same grind day in and day out was starting to burn me out. After 6yrs I decided it was time for a change. Best decision I've made in a long time. I had plenty of other options on what to do, but felt that HIN would offer the most fun. I can still stay in touch with all my friends from the industry, but am no longer in a customer service role. I'm having a lot of fun doing this. Happy is better than stressed and angry any day. For those of you that think I'm a 'moron'.... So what? Everyone has an opinion. Chances are you don't even know me all that well. At least not well enough to decide my intelligence level. It's nice not having to deal with negative people anymore. I was never the "GM" at SCS. I spent two months there before I completely decided I wanted out. Some things leave a bad taste in your mouth that are never going away. WRX-pilot... you know Paul? That's cool. He's a really good guy. |
Yeah, Paul has been a client of the company I work for, for quite some time but I didn't know their business until I met Chad and he told me all about Vision Ent. They are both super cool guys and I try to keep in touch with them.
Im glad you've moved on to something better. So what if people don't like HIN, I still think it would be fun to work for them. |
Good luck with your new job, Ryan.

glad to see you're happy bud. i'll see you around sometime.
