i drove down w/ my friend one time and somebody tried to open his trunk while we were out and about. so he couldn't open his trunk w/ his key anymore.
at the border, the patrol guy asks for the key so he can check the trunk. he was able to open the trunk and comes back to my friend (who is driving) and says,
"there are people in there"
we were like, "WTF, we're screwed!!!"
but then he goes, "hahaha just kidding!"
