build quality is pretty cheap, the only brand ive used from new egg is byttec, and they are ok, but not great.

frys/outpost had a deal on a 250 gb extenal maxtor for 100 bucks shipped yesterday . I have this drive and its ok. Even though frys sells junk sometimes you might want to check out the flyers anyway.

 

yeah i think i rather buy preassemble one and not worry about those cheap enclosure burning out and frying the HDD.
HDD is expensive case is cheap..

 

I've used both intensively. I like them both. PC is great for hacking. MAC is just spiffier with it's application and better stability.

It's not the machine you want to argue about. Its about the developments you want to argue about. In the end. It's MS Windows vs. Linux.

I love Linux and they're just so unique.

As far as machine external look. Mac look much better than any pc's out there. I'm a PC user and I'll say that. Go to an apple store to check out there ginormous beautiful screens. it's juanderful.

I have an external 200gb from iomega it works fine, however its only usb 2.0 (no firewire)

eh, personal choice. i had both in college and i preferred my powerbook 32,324,567,932 times over the pc.

intel P4 already reached it's peak power.. thats why it's being discontinued.

mac mini looks like a nice intro mac system for PC only people. Ive been thinking about getting one for a long time.
