Dont have any deals on harddrives, but make sure your harddrive is still under warranty.. most hd manufacturers give 3 year warranties.

the discounts I get apply to all computers in the home and home office section of dell. Which include the XPS GEN5. I have not yet checked to see if it works on the XPS600 yet.

my discounts work on anything dell sells on the home section. But they have certain requiments which make it not worth it for lower priced items.

eg.

Currently I have a 25 off $400. i HAD a $25.00 off $25.01 but that got taken down.

one more note, the discounts I get at work are not for public use. So if I help any of you out, I hope I do not see any of the codes being released to fatwallet, techdeals.. etc...

I'm in the market for a Dell PC...I think a pile of **** will work better than this 7 year old thing sittin under the desk (cant even hook it up to the cable internet). I think I was looking at the Dimension 3000 Media Center PC the other day. what can ya do for me on that one? all I need is the tower, wireless mouse, and a keyboard :-P

cant really get any good deals on the Dimension 3000. For $600 shipped I can get you the P4 2.8ghz 40gb hd, 48x cdrw, 17" flat panel. cannot customize w/o flat panel.

can get you a good deal on a 5100 model though.

$700 shipped gets you P4 2.8ghz 512mb ram, 80gb hd, cdrw/dvd drive, 128mb ati video card, and a 19" flat panel.

or.. for the same price, can get you a better 5100 ( more upgrades ) without the 19" flat panel.

those are really the best deals I can think of.

Are these deals only good for complete setups? I've been thinkin of getting a new monitor. Right now I'm still using my Gateway EV700 17'' CRT :-P. The thing's covered in stickers, I can't get rid of it, but I can always replace it for now and use it somewhere else.
